Louis W. Morse

Louis W. Morse, Funeral Director; Life Celebrant

Louis graduated from Middletown High School in 1970, served in the United States Navy from 1971 - 1973, as a Hospital Corpsman, in Philadelphia Naval Hospital. He graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, NY in 1975 with an Associates Degree. Following a six month Resident employment in Port Jervis, he joined his father Lynn E. Morse at P.J. Reilly Funeral Home, Inc., in Middletown. He and his Father purchased the funeral home in 1978, changed the name to P.J.Reilly-Morse Funeral Home Inc. Lynn retired in 1987, Louis changed the funeral home's name to Morse Funeral Home Inc.
Lou is married to Lilly Vazquez Morse, they share their lives with 6 children and 10 grandchildren.
Community has always been important to Lou, he has devoted over 44 years the volunteer fire service rising to the rank of 1st Assistant Fire Chief, and is Mechanicstown Fire District Administrator. A lifetime member of American Legion Post 151 and Orange County Vietnam Veterans Chapter 140. He is past president of the Middletown Wallkill Veterans Organization.
He has served on numerous boards in the community and is a member of Middletown Kiwanis Club where he served as club president and as Lt Governor twice.
Lou is a member of the Family Assistance with New York State Funeral Directors Association.
He is a certified Life Celebrant and has been ordained by the Message from Above Ministries.
